Garda Vetting of Summer Camp Volunteers
The below only applies to applicants with an address in the South of Ireland. Those living in the North of Ireland must complete the Access NI Vetting procedure. If you live in the North of Ireland click here!
In line with the National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Act 2012 and as part of our Safe Recruitment Process, all volunteers must complete the Garda vetting process.
Garda Vetting has changed from 29th April 2016 to a NEW online system. We cannot accept paper applications!
Thank you for your patience during the transition period for Garda Vetting. Please take the following steps to complete Garda Vetting.
Two Forms of Photocopied ID and GAA E-Vetting ID Form –
Before you start the online Garda Vetting application form, please complete the GAA E-Vetting ID Form CLICK HERE to download. Alongside your GAA E-Vetting ID Form please forward me two forms of photocopied ID to this email address. One piece of photographic identification should be included and at least one document confirming your current address. As soon as possible after receiving your ID, I will verify your ID, sign it off and return it to you via email. Please save these signed copies of your ID as you will need to upload them with your online application.
Online Part 1 –
Only after you have received your signed ID back from myself or another member of Michaela Foundation management, follow this link to complete Part 1 online Garda Vetting – APPLY NOW. Please note your vetting application will not be processed without uploading verified ID.
Online Part 2 –
The NVB will issue you with the NVB Vetting Application form online link via the email address you provided in Part 1. Once all sections of the form have been answered this then completes your application process for E Vetting in the GAA and within a short period of time you will be contacted by the GAA informing you as to the outcome of the vetting application.

Please complete the Under 18 NVB Parent/Guardian Consent Form CLICK HERE to download.
In a nutshell:
- Complete GAA E-Vetting ID Form CLICK HERE
- Find 2 forms of ID (one photographic and one with your address)
- Scan or take a photo of these forms of ID
- Send the ID and GAA E-Vetting ID Form to email@example.com
- Janine will verify your ID and sign it
- Janine will return the signed ID and GAA E-Vetting ID Form to yourself via email
- Commence the online application Part 1 APPLY NOW. Upload your signed copies of ID (those returned to you by Janine)
- Part 2 – The NVB will issue you with the NVB Vetting Application form online link via the email address you provided in Part 1
- If you are under 18, complete the NVB Parent/Guardian Consent Form CLICK HERE to download
Please note, you do not need a scanner to complete any of the above steps. You may use a smart phone or a digital camera to send the copies of ID to us.
FYI – GAA Membership is not mandatory, so you can leave this field blank. Please enter your closest club/county/info.
The safety and welfare of our Campettes and Leaders is of utmost importance. Leaders who aren’t vetted will not be permitted to volunteer at Camp. As we cannot predict how long the authorities will take to process your vetting application, we would appreciate if you submit your application as a matter of urgency at your earliest convenience. To confirm, participants will get an acceptance letter from the GAA as per usual, please forward your certificate at your earliest convenience.

*Whilst all interested applicants must be vetted, we cannot ensure that everyone vetted will be offered a position at Camp due to the high interest levels. However, we can ensure that applicants who don’t go through the vetting process will not be considered for a role at Camp.
