Caoimhe felt like “A Little Bird” whilst Fundraising for Michaela Foundation
On Saturday 21st March, Caoimhe O’Hagan bravely took to the sky at the Wildgeese Skydive Centre in Garvagh in aid of Michaela Foundation. Before doing so, Caoimhe raised a whopping £1500!
When asked to describe her experience Caoimhe said, “I cannot put the experience into words. The initial Why do I do this to myself? panic disappeared once I was free falling from 13,000ft in the air, high up above the clouds. It was beyond anything I could’ve imagined and such a breathtaking experience. I felt like a little bird!”
Caoimhe went on to say, “I am so grateful to all the friends and family of both myself and the Foundation for all the generous donations and sponsorships to enable me to raise a total of £1500 for Michaela Foundation. Michaela Foundation is an organisation which I hold very close to my heart and hold the core values and ethos very central to my life. This year I was one of the three girls awarded the Student Award Scheme Scholarship of £1000 as well as being given the public pedestal to share my university experiences with other students through a series of monthly blogs. I made it my target to raise £1000 to give back to the foundation what they so generously gave me, so they can offer this amazing opportunity to another first year student next year.”
On behalf of Michaela Foundation Úna Kelly stated, “Believe it or not this isn’t the first time Caoimhe has bowled us over with her generosity. Caoimhe has donated quite literally hundreds of hours of voluntary service since the Foundation was established. We are most grateful to Caoimhe and all those who generously sponsored her for this very brave feat! It’s thanks to fundraisers like Caoimhe that Michaela Foundation continues to grow and flourish. We really hope that Caoimhe enjoyed her experience as we are sure that her donation will bring much joy to the lives of others!”
