Festival of Flowers Presentation
During the weekend of 7th June, the Garvaghey Centre, Tyrone was transformed into a floral haven with the Festival of Flowers in aid of Michaela Foundation.
Flower displays created by talented florists from all over Ireland represented different aspects of Michaela Foundation’s work. Beautiful floral creations depicted each of the five elements: Fun, Faith, Fashion, Well-being and Fáilte and much more. Further entertainment was provided over the weekend by musicians Arleta, Irish dancers from the Maginn School of dancing and dancers from St. Mary’s GAA Aghagallon. Expert florists also ran demonstrations in the auditorium.
On behalf of Michaela Foundation, Úna Kelly thanked the core organisers Mary O’Neill and Sinead Goodwin (Flowers by Arrangement) and their team of talented florists for the energy and enthusiasm they put into the Festival of Flowers. An astounding £2156 was raised for Michaela Foundation. Úna praised their efforts stating, “Not only are all involved very talented and creative florists but also very talented fundraisers. We are most grateful to all those who supported the Festival of Flowers in any way. The funds raised will assist us greatly in our work with young people throughout Ireland.”
