Food Glorious Food

As I am writing this, the dreaded, January Blues season is finally drawing to a close. I don’t know about anyone else but I am most looking forward to getting back into some kind of routine. I have had a great, relaxing break and I am definitely re-energised and ready to get back into the swing of uni life. My timetable is a lot lighter than last semester so far so good!

Living by the beach is beautiful, even in cold weather it is lovely and tranquil. I can’t wait for the weather to pick up and for there to be a stretch in the evenings again so that I can make full use of natures beauty. There is nothing better than a busy day being made so much better by a stroll on the prom.

It is official. I am going to Medjugorje for a pilgrimage in July! Excited isn’t the word. Not only will I achieve my farmer tan, I will be spending time with great friends while getting my faith replenished. My money-box is filling up slowly but surely and I am not pained putting the pounds away as I know it is going to be an amazing experience. The International Youth Festival will be on the week we are staying in Medjugorje, so it is sure to be an incredible atmosphere and a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Semester two is upon us and there is only twelve weeks between us and the summer holidays yehawwwwww! But since the January loan has come in, the word on the street is what it is going to be spent on. Holiday’s is the hot topic of conversation as is paying back the overdraft!!!!! However as a keen nutritionist, I am adamant to remind students not to let their diet or nutrition suffer at a cost of saving the pennies.

We can still achieve optimum nutrition at minimum costs if we are prepared to be organised and plan our meals. Buying lunch in uni everyday can be an expensive habit; it would be much easier on our pockets if we made our own packed lunch. Check out my PowerPoint on cheap and cheerful meals that are ideal for students. Embrace your inner Mary Berry or Gordon Ramsay, you could be surprised how good you are!
