Michaela Foundation – aiming to #EndBullyingNow

Friday November 14th 2014

Michaela Foundation are gearing up for this year’s Anti-Bullying Week (17-23 November).

The theme is Together We Will Make a Difference – END BULLYING NOW!”  Michaela Foundation are working with the Northern Ireland Anti-Bullying Forum (NIABF) and the NSPCC’s Child Protection in Sport Unit to encourage everyone, young and old, to think about the role they can play in ending bullying in our communities.

Michaela Foundation are encouraging all their volunteers and supporters who work with young people in any capacity to register with the NIABF who will then provide a free resource pack, including presentations, workshop activities and posters.

Lee Kane, Regional Anti-Bullying Coordinator, explains why the week is so important:

“Bullying is an issue that must remain on the agenda every week of the year, but Anti-Bullying Week allows young people the opportunity to really think about what bullying means them, and what they can do if they are concerned about it.”

“It’s important that we remind the young people we work with that bullying is always wrong and that we all must play our role in making it stop.”

Michaela Foundation would also like to encourage all volunteers and followers to sign up for The Child Protection in Sport Unit’s free webinar about empowering sport to tackle bullying. It will take place on Monday 17th at 11am. You can register online https://thecpsu.org.uk/news/2014/november/empowering-sport-to-tackle-bullying/

Michaela Foundation will be using the hashtags #EndBullyingNow #TogetherWeWillMakeADifference and #NiNeartGoCurLeChéile #CuirDeireadhLeTromaíochtAnois during anti-bullying week. Will you?
