What First Year at University Has Taught Me…

Thursday June 19th 2014

That’s it. All done. My first year at university is actually over. How, or more to the point, WHEN did that happen!? Looking back over the last year, not to sound all cliche and everything but I genuinely cannot believe how much has changed. This time last year I was cramming for exams that I never ever thought I would get the grades for to do something I’d always wanted to do. Now, I’m cramming for exams for something that I don’t know why I ever wanted to do!!!! Just kidding, I still can’t wait to be a teacher. (fingers crossed). I’m just  not a big paper work fan myself, more of a ‘let-me-into-a-classroom-already’ kind of gal. But I suppose this is all part and parcel of university life.

It would only be fitting that I wrote my blog for this month on everything that has happened over the course of the last eight months, from beginning St. Mary’s as a scared, naive Fresher, to finishing first year, well, that little bit older but probably none the wiser. The recent months gone by have allowed me the opportunity to basically, grow up. I’ve opened up a whole new chapter in my life, and, although I had somewhat of a shaky start, once I found my feet everything else just seemed to click. So, rather than read all about a year that I physically cannot sum up in words, why not watch this short video I created detailing 10 things that university life has taught me. I’m sure some of you students, past and present, can relate!

Until next month,
